Why Busy People Should Buy FFXIV Gil (If they want to because it doesn’t matter in this game)

My job is pretty demanding and I just can’t invest the kind of time it takes craft or gather… well pretty much anything that makes ffxiv gil — but I’m not really a casual player is the problem. Like many reading this probably, I’m a little competitive. And our raid group does okay—not server first usually, but up there, sometimes second or third (sometimes 5th or 6th :p). 

Anyway, that’s the fun stuff for me. So I said, “This is like any hobby, and I’m going to invest in it.”  

I understand the idea that “You should make your own money in-game” and if I had time I would do that—but since that is not the case, I don’t see any problem buying ffxiv gil.  

This game is not pay-to-win. Gil doesn’t have any effect on your ability or anyone else’s ability to pass the dungeons. It doesn’t affect the random drops when you beat the end-game dungeons. 

So what’s the difference? 

I’d like to hear what other people think. If it doesn’t effect the end game stuff, and if you don’t have time to make the gil yourself… 

What’s wrong with buying it? Or am I an a-hole and missing some hidden reason why I shouldn’t buy ffxiv gil :P  

Full disclosure, I buy from mmogah because they don’t spam in game (I refused to give the annoying spammers like goldah,pvpbank or whatever any money) and because they seem really safe and polite. One asterisk I would put on “Why busy people should buy ffxiv gil” is “only from people who don’t spam.
