Elysium Project Nighthaven realm has
been live for two months. A stable online player population (3,500 - 5,500),
and a near even faction balance between the Alliance and Horde, have made it
the place to play Vanilla World of Warcraft. As a fresh progression realm,
Nighthaven is full of all new characters that works through Vanilla content
from Patch 1.2 to Patch 1.12 over the next year.
The next step in the
progression begins with the release of Patch 1.4 - The Call to War (January 6,
2018). Please note that this release only is a content update. Core code bug
fixes will come in the next development update.
An announcement came today revealing that the Elysium Project is shutting down temporarily due to Financial Shenanigans. The core team are stepping down from the Elysium Project are coalescing around the foundational ideals this project is supposed to represent and are relaunching as “Light’s Hope” under new management. Expecting roughly 24-48 hours until the servers go live. This is not a firm timeline, please be patient! It's been revealed that the "private" WoW server, Elysium, is shutting down due to "failures to uphold the project's ideas and integrity". Core team members have been engaging in deceitful practices related to project funding.

The trailer showed off new bosses and new environments completely without commentary, merely showing off pretty pictures set to new music. Shadow of the Necropolis slowed things down a bit, showing you some of who Kel'Thuzad was in life and how he came to be lich lord of Naxxramas.
Naxxaramas PTR opened for further testing on August 14. Since the first PTR of Naxxarams on July 12, Elysium development team have been working non-stop to ensure the quality of Naxxaramas, and all wings will be opened up for players to test.
“Please read the following information regarding further testing: Players will be able to create level 60 characters. Anathema, Darrowshire and Elysium are invited to test. In Orgrimmar and Ironforge, you will find an NPC who will give you consumables, frost resistance gear, various raid gear and enchants. This NPC will be located where you teleport to after speaking to the Teleport-NPC which is described: There will be a Teleport-NPC located in all starting areas to get you to Orgrimmar or Ironforge. This NPC will allow you to be directly teleported to Naxxaramas, as well as other locations in Azeroth, in order to test the 'Scourge Event' which will be added to the PTR during the next few weeks. expectations, our decision to release our source code and character database to
Elysium actually made our 2 goals harder to achieve, implying a thought
decision to make. Now we need to
continue convincing the World of Warcraft community that it would bring continued
value to the entirety of World of Warcraft, something we missed to achieve so
far. We know that Nostalrius carries the hopes of the legacy community but
moving from “fan server” to "pirate server" reputation makes it
harder to convince that legacy fans have a place on the WoW community. We ask Elysium to
join this effort for Legacy realms by stopping to use data that we provided. We
know they aim at official legacy realms as we do. We have already stopped the
account transfer process from our side as a first step. Nostalrius community is
no longer about private servers, it is about official legacy realms.”
