Overwatch is a
fast shooting game, which is both simple and complicated in the way. It is easy
to start playing, without owning much strategy or thinking too much about your
characters. You can start at anywhere, and it is fine to jump in and start
blasting when you first get access.
Building
and maintaining a positive winning rate will take much time and
energy. If you are have not much time or energy, you can seek help from a trustworthy Overwatch power leveling site. If
you're struggling to improve your winning rate, here mmogah would like
to share some important Overwatch tips with
you.
1. Listen to the
audio cues
Blizzard
did a phenomenal job with the sound design in Overwatch, what you hear is
mechanically sound. Your character will gasp when you are low on health.
Characters will tell you when an enemy is behind you or when there is a turret
nearby. Moreover, you can even hear enemy footsteps. The most important audio
cues you need to learn are Ultimates.
2. Learn the maps
The
biggest things you need to know are:
The
routes your enemy can get to the point.
Where
an enemy can hide.
Where
the health packs are located.
The
last one is particularly crucial, because a health boost can completely turn
the tide of an encounter. Whenever you see a health pack, make a mental note of
it. You might need it at some point.
3. Use the melee
Every
character has a melee attack in Overwatch, but a lot of players don’t use the
melee attack. It is fast, bringing a chunk of damage, and much more accurate in
close proximity than the majority of weapons.
This
is 50 damage and comes out lightning fast, so it has the difference between a
live foe and a confirmed kill. Use the melee in a 1v1 battle.
4. Fire your gun a
lot
This
is the most obvious advice for a shooter player. You can shoot Reinhardt's
shield; you can shoot at Bastion in the distance even if he can heal himself;
you can shoot Torbjorn's turret; you can shoot Symmetra's stuff.
There
are three reasons why this is unusually important in Overwatch:
You
have infinite ammo, so there's no reason not to do that;
Your
ultimate is charged when you do damage;
This
is a game about area denial, and players like to shoot.
Obviously!
Some players can bear on this. 'Shooting
a lot' means that something different to Widowmaker, Tracer, and Lucio, but
there's an important principle: you need to maximize damage ability. It means that
you need to adapt your playstyle on a character-by-character basis.
5. Waste the
enemies' time
Time
is one of the most important resources in Overwatch. In most modes, the
attackers are the players most obviously working against, but the same
principles affect defenders too. You always benefit if your opponents are not
able to enact their plans as fast as they'd like.
There
are many obvious and acknowledged ways to slow the enemies down: like shooting
them or healing the person they're about to kill, but there are subtler methods
too. If you can force an enemy to chase you around rather than push for an
objective, you've won big for your team even if you haven't gotten any damage.
6. Aim for the
head
Nobody
will tell you this, but you need to know shooting head is more damage than
shooting body.
Get
rid of enemy healers
If
there is a Mercy, Lucio, or other hero, you need to make sure to target them
first before they buff/heal your enemies. A good support can make your
team to mount a successful attack.
7. Character tips
Overwatch is
a team game, and the best thing you can do is to pick heroes that complement
your team’s lineup. I am not just mean in the “not enough defense heroes” or
“not enough supports” sense. Some specific characters make for
absolutely devilish combos. At this point, Overwatch players aren’t
the best communicators, but you can mitigate that by picking a character who
naturally pairs well with members of your team. Maybe the
best Overwatch tip I can give is always be support, even when you’re
not playing a support character. Support is a mindset. In Overwatch, it’s
a winning one.
8. Play support
and tank heroes
The
majority of new Overwatch players do not want to play a tank hero, and even
fewer ones want to play support hero. Overwatch isn't a game about kills or
skill shoot, however, it's a game about objectives. You have to be extremely
good at an offensive character or sniper to match the contribution of a decent
support.
9. Outfit your
hero
One
of the best parts about Overwatch is customizing everything, from
your skin, spray paint to emote.
10. Objectives are
more important than kills
Overwatch
is a team game that's all about completing objectives in different game modes.
Each game mode has a set number of maps.
The
objectives are what your team should be focusing on. Killing your opponents can
be very helpful in preventing them from completing their focus on the current
map, but it's not the overall point of the game. If you dominate the defending
team in Escort, but never moved the payload, you failed. You may have the Play
of the Game and a Commendation, but you still lost. It's sometimes not worth
chasing a weakened opponent if you're trying to capture a point in Assault.
Keep the objective in mind, no matter what you're doing.
Having
a good kill/death ratio is nice, but it won’t win you matches. You have to
active capture points, move the payload, or defend against attackers if you
want to play Overwatch in the right way.
11. Skill matters
less than brains
The
most pleasing thing about Overwatch is how it leaves traditional FPS gameplay
intact through certain characters while introducing a new layer of more
ability-based tactics with others. And it’s important to recognize that
Overwatch is a less purely skill-based shooter and rewards a different kind of
thinking. Team composition will win out over pure twitch skills and the game is
tailor-made for switching – so don’t just stick with your favourites.
All
in all, we hope these important tips are useful for your overwatch boost.
