NBA 2K17 featured 47 classic teams, in NBA 2K18, this number will grow to 63. NBA 2K has already released several teams of the 16, and all the teams will be released on August 25.

NBA 2K18 will feature All-Time Teams for all 30 NBA franchises comprised of the best players in each team's history. The new feature will have all the best players from different eras of one franchise on one team. Think Kobe Bryant playing alongside Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
According to Erick Boenisch, the man behind MyGM and MyLeague, the all-time teams will be fully editable and usable in the two modes.
